Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS) |
||
|
This week, Warwickshire Police Rural Crime Team is proud to be supporting the National Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS) Week of Action, helping to raise awareness of the significant impact these species have on our countryside, waterways, wildlife and local economy. Yesterday, our Rural Crime Team officers are taking part in specialist training to improve our knowledge and ability to identify and deal with invasive non-native species. The training includes both classroom learning and practical field exercises across the Stratford-upon-Avon district. As part of these exercises, you may have spotted Warwickshire Rural Crime Team laminated information sheets at various countryside locations while officers complete identification tasks and practical scenarios. Help protect our waterways – Check. Clean. Dry. Whether you’re fishing, paddleboarding, kayaking, boating, wild swimming or simply enjoying our rivers and lakes, you can help prevent the spread of invasive species by following three simple steps: These simple actions can make a huge difference in protecting Warwickshire’s native wildlife and habitats. Together, we can all play our part in protecting Warwickshire’s countryside for future generations. | ||
